Andrea’s boudoir photoshoot from my perspective
Andrea was my very first client here in the new studio in Frederick, MD. I’d just moved in about 2 weeks prior to this shoot, and we’d been discussing the session for a couple of months before I made the big move from sunny Florida.
I was beyond excited to break in the new studio with Andrea. She texted me she was outside, and as I rushed around putting on the finishing touches of her shoot– lighting candles, arranging a pot of hot water ready for tea, and strategically placing the furniture, including my beloved suede yellow chair that seemed to scream ‘strike a pose!’ I couldn’t help but feel a surge of adrenaline mixed with anticipation.
I have this ritual where I meditate for about 15 minutes before each photoshoot. It helps me get grounded and open up creatively. So, there I was, sitting cross-legged, trying to achieve inner peace while simultaneously praying that the backdrop I ordered online would actually match the one in the picture. Talk about multitasking!
When Andrea finally arrived, I felt a surge of calm, buoyant, and appreciative energy. Our beaming smiles matched each other’s as we greeted with a hug, and I gave her the grand tour of the almost-bare studio space. But hey, who needs fancy props when you’ve got imagination and a killer eye for aesthetics?
Once we settled in, it was time to ensure Andrea’s comfort. I offered her water, tea, or coffee, along with some snacks to keep her energy up throughout the session. We would be shooting for just under 90 minutes this day but around the 50 minute mark is when my ladies sometimes get a bit hungry so I like to keep chocolate and nuts, wasabi seaweed snacks and stuff like that STOCKED!
As we began shooting, I couldn’t help but admire Andrea’s confidence and sense of humor. We shared laughs over some awkward poses that I ASSURED her would translate well on camera and bonded over our mutual love for 90s supernatural TV shows. Turns out, we were both obsessed with the Buffyverse.
Despite the occasional mishap and spontaneous bursts of laughter, we managed to capture some truly stunning shots. It’s moments like these that remind me why I love what I do so much. Connecting with my clients on a deeper level, capturing their essence, and empowering them through my lens is not just a job for me—it’s my passion.
Andrea’s glowing review truly touched my heart, as it reflects not only the quality of my work but also the genuine care and attention I put into each and every shoot. I’m grateful for clients like Andrea who trust me to capture their beauty and allow me to share in their journey of self-discovery and empowerment.
So here’s to more laughter, more awkward poses, and more unforgettable moments shared with amazing clients like Andrea. Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about taking pictures—it’s about creating memories that last a lifetime.
